My essay on Yusef Komunyakaa’s poem “Dien Cai Dau” is forthcoming in the collection, Dear Yusef: Essays, Letters, and Poems for and about One Mr. Komunyakaa, edited by John Murillo and Nicole Sealey and being published by Wesleyan University Press.

“Through the Wrong End of a Telescope,” from Cancer Voodoo, was featured on Verse Daily on August 18, 2022. I’m very grateful to J.P. Dancing Bear for selecting my poem. This is my first time on Verse Daily!
One of my drunken sonnets, “Small Talk,” was selected as a Laureates’ Choice in the Maria W. Faust Sonnet Contest, 2022. I was honored to be able to share my poem at the awards ceremony. You can read the poem here and find out more about the contest at the website and this news story.
